The perfect collaboration? Two female entrepreneurs supporting each other
A mutual college friend introduced Uraidah Hassani, Founder of The Women Worldwide Initiative, and Elana Reinholtz, entrepreneur and co-founder of Bird & Stone, earlier this year in hopes that their similar entrepreneurial drive and passion to empower women and girls would spark the perfect collaboration. He was right.
As they say at Bird & Stone, looking great feels even more fabulous when a portion of your purchase goes to helping people help themselves… From July through this month of September, purchase a versatile Bird & Stone piece for yourself or a loved one and simultaneously help fund a year of Young Women Rock!, our after-school mentorship program for girls living in low-income neighborhoods in New York City.
Bird & Stone supports organizations that empower and educate people to reach their full potential. “When I found out about TWWI and all the great endeavors they are doing in terms of mentoring, educating and providing opportunity, I knew it would be a great organization to partner with. We prioritize empowering young women as they are a future force to be reckoned with,” shared Elana.
We are excited to partner with Bird & Stone, especially as it means supporting a company founded by two young women. Elana took the leap to start her business (along with her co-founder, Cindy) because she saw a need from people wanting to change the world through something small, like a purchase. Elana explains that, “every piece of Bird & Stone jewelry has a giveback built in that supports organizations like microloans, educational programming, and career training.” This is an exciting partnership for more reasons than simply being a smart business decision. Both Elana and Uraidah see the value in supporting each other as female entrepreneurs. “They [women] are at the forefront of creating jobs in today’s world. There are less of us and we must all support each other to forge ahead,” states Elana.
