The Women Worldwide Initiative Officially Partners with Women’s March on Washington

November 27, 2016 [Washington, D.C.]: The Women Worldwide Initiative is an official partner of the Women’s March on Washington, which will be held in the nation’s capital on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. As a partner, TWWI is mobilizing the constituents it serves, particularly in New York City’s most underserved communities, to support the march and promote respect for human rights.

“We are proud to stand in solidarity with people from diverse communities across the country to demand that everyone’s human rights be protected, and to declare that women’s rights are human rights,” said Uraidah Hassani, Executive Director of The Women Worldwide Initiative. “We serve women and girls in impoverished communities, many of whose identities also intersect with being black and brown, immigrant, Muslim, LGBTQIA, indigenous, differently abled, and survivors of sexual assault. We decided to officially support the Women’s March on Washington because we are true in our commitment to the advancement of human dignity, gender equality and justice for all – in the United States and around the world.”
